The University of Karbala today welcomed the first cohort of international students admitted under the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program. The reception took place in an official and welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the university’s commitment to openness and academic engagement as part of its efforts to enhance cultural and scientific exchange with countries around the world.
The students were received at Baghdad International Airport by the Head of the Arab and Foreign Students Division, who greeted them and provided an overview of the administrative and academic procedures related to registration, as well as the various services offered by the university to ensure their integration into the academic environment and to support their educational journey.
Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, emphasized that welcoming this group represents a significant step toward the university’s internationalization and the strengthening of its global academic presence. He noted that the university continues to adopt strategies promoting scientific and cultural openness, contributing to establishing Karbala as a center of knowledge and cultural interaction.
For her part, Dr. Hawraa Jabbar Rahi Al-Kuraity, Head of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, explained that this achievement is the result of joint efforts and continuous coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. She affirmed the department’s commitment to providing full support to international students and ensuring close follow-up on all academic and administrative aspects to guarantee a fruitful and successful learning experience.
